Terms of Service

Last updated 3 November 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and PeerTok when you use the website and app. By creating an account or using PeerTok you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use PeerTok.

1. Using PeerTok

  • You must be old enough to agree to a contract where you live, and give true information. Vibe Mate is for adults (18 and over).
  • Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • One person, one account. Do not pretend to be someone else.

2. What you post and how you behave

You own what you post, and you give PeerTok permission to show it as the service needs (for example in your Vibe and on your profile). You are responsible for it.

  • No harassment, hate, threats, sexual content involving minors, scams, impersonation, illegal goods or anything that puts others at risk.
  • No spam, fake events, fake tickets or attempts to cheat the system, payments or reviews.
  • We may remove content, restrict features or suspend accounts that break these terms or the Vibe Mate rules, and we will tell you why where we can.

3. Events and tickets

  • Events are run by their organisers, not by PeerTok. The organiser is responsible for the event and for delivering what they sell.
  • A ticket is a QR code for one person. Do not share or resell a ticket in a way that lets more than one person in. A ticket that has been scanned at the door is used.
  • Changes to a live event (such as its date, venue or price) and cancellations are approved by PeerTok before they take effect. If an event is cancelled, buyers are refunded to their PeerTok wallet, less no fee of their own.
  • Refunds follow the event's refund policy and the refund window shown at checkout. A ticket that has already been used to enter the event cannot be refunded.

4. Payments, fees and refunds

  • Prices are shown in Kenya shillings, or in your currency where we offer it, and include what you will pay. Payment is through M-Pesa or the other methods offered at checkout.
  • PeerTok charges organisers and sellers a fee on paid tickets, memberships and products. Fees are shown to them before they sell and may change with notice.
  • Refunds are paid into your PeerTok wallet, which you can use for other purchases or withdraw as the app allows.
  • We may hold or refuse a payment or refund that looks fraudulent or unsafe, and we may ask you to prove who you are first.

5. Creators, earnings and payouts

  • To sell on PeerTok you must be a verified Vibe Creator: you give your legal name and ID, which we check.
  • Earnings are released after a hold period that depends on the kind of sale (and after the event for tickets) so refunds can be paid. Paying out is to an account in your own legal name only; the full name on your payout account must match your verified legal name.
  • Withdrawals may have a fee and a minimum, shown before you confirm. Payouts can be held or declined if something looks wrong, and we will explain why.
  • You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.

6. Shop and memberships

Sellers must describe products truthfully and deliver them. Products and big changes to them are reviewed by PeerTok. Paid memberships give access for the period paid for and follow the terms shown when you join.

7. Vibe Mate

Vibe Mate is an optional feature for adults with its own rules and policies, which you accept before you use it. We may restrict or end a connection to keep people safe.

8. Our responsibility

We work hard to keep PeerTok running and safe, but we provide it as it is and cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, PeerTok is not responsible for what users post or do, for events and products sold by others, or for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Kenyan consumer law.

9. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time in your settings. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and money owed to you will be dealt with as the law and these terms allow.

10. Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms and will tell you in the app about important changes; using PeerTok after that means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya and disputes go to the courts of Kenya. Questions: use the support page at peertok.com/support.
